Niccolo101 Probably got labelled feral because when she was captured she was frightened as h I (y'know, at being captured) and hissing up a storm. Just like any creature would be.

Poor baby, I'm glad she's getting plenty of love now though!

Atalantean I don't think she had time to become feral. Rescuer doesn't know the meaning.

camarhyn I deal with a ton of feral kittens. Some remain spicy for a few weeks but most calm their sh within 48 hours if not less. We are able to handle 99% of them within 2 hours of trapping. It's very possible she was feral and had just enough time to realize humans aren't going to eat her. She's absolutely adorable!

CMStan1313 Smol Bounty Hunter Just a quick clarification for any who don't know, "feral" in the animal rescue/foster community does not mean rabid and aggressive. A "feral" animal is one that has had little to no

socialization with humans, which can lead to them being excessively nervous or skittish around people (which, yes, can present itself as defensiveness or aggression, but it's not a requisite).

I'm not saying OP is wrong, since this little bundle of cute certainly doesn't look particularly skittish, just didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea if they hear the term used again

Derp800 I got a semi-feral kitten 3 years ago. She wouldn't warm up to us, but we had a 1 year old male kitty that was really interested in getting into the room for a few days. So we let him in just to see how things went. The kitten ran right up to him and nuzzled/played with him.

She's still not a real lap cat. She likes her brother and tolerates us. Every now and then she'll allow us to pet her or lay on us while watching TV. She hates. being picked up, though. It's been 3 years but ... progress is being made lol

PiratesTale Someone should hear the sounds I make when I see these adorable things!!!! It's not English or any language but like baby talk for kittens!

narcissistssk We have a similar "feral" cat. She will basically attack anyone who walks in the door, begging for affection. She also has no concept of personal space. She's the tabby, pictured here with Sophie, the long-suffering younger sister.

SardonicusR Works with the Smols I've met a lot of feral babies over the years, and that sleep posture is anything but. Scared? Maybe at first. Lovely little thing!

WoodenSimple5050 Some ferals were just meant to be indoor cats. We've rescued a few who seemed to know all the rules (and benefits) of being indoors, even though we know for a fact they'd never lived inside.
